Wolfe’s Neck Woods: choose a short route before the shore.
Consider a short nature walk as one day’s anchor, with a route and a turn-back point chosen for your group. This is a state park, separate from Wolfe’s Neck Center.

Profile notes
Opening hours and arrival
The park opens year-round from 9 am to sunset unless posted otherwise at the gate, with year-round admission fees. The address is 426 Wolfe Neck Road, Freeport. Check conditions and posted instructions before setting out.
Start with White Pines, then check conditions
The park’s 2017 brochure describes White Pines Trail from the second parking lot as the more level wheelchair- and stroller-accessible route. Check current surfaces and closures before relying on that older description; it does not apply to the whole park.
The shore changes the outing
The brochure describes stairs and slippery rocks at shoreline access and steep or uneven sections on the Harraseeket loop. Our recommendation is to keep the walk short enough to turn back. A tide-edge scramble or wildlife sighting is not part of this plan.
Pack a complete short visit
The visitor page lists picnicking and trails; the brochure asks visitors to carry out trash and not feed or disturb wildlife. Bring the food and clothing your chosen walk requires instead of assuming a café, animal interaction or indoor rain refuge.
