The Maine family journal
Three family stays, compared on the same terms.
There is no overall winner. These properties answer different room questions, and the unknown fields matter as much as the listed amenities.

Use the kitchen distinction carefully
Residence Inn offers kitchens and several suite layouts. Enter the full party when selecting a category, then check its permitted occupancy and actual beds. A larger suite name does not settle the sleeping arrangement.
Breakfast is not one uniform inclusion
Residence Inn includes hot breakfast. Harraseeket includes continental breakfast. Budget for breakfast at Hilton Garden Inn unless the selected rate explicitly includes it.
Compare a room, not a brand
Pool presence, connecting-room listings and a hotel address do not settle room availability, supervision or terms. Keep cancellation, total price, parking and any required crib confirmation beside the exact category before committing.
Use the comparison
Read the room checklist before selecting a rate. Read the room and facility details for Residence Inn, Harraseeket and Hilton Garden Inn. Then decide between a Portland or Freeport base.
